This week’s Monday Philm is 25th Hour (2002) which is usually a September movie but I watched it this week bc Phil pets a cute dog and I adopted a cute dog this week <3

Honestly not too much new to say about this rewatch—I’m actually waiting for the Blu-Ray (which was ridiculously hard to find for less than $50??) to see the special features and deleted scenes and, eventually, the three (3!) commentary tracks. I might mention this every single time I watch it but the first PSH gif I ever made was from this movie... Actually it was from a low-res youtube video of the trailer. So it has special nostalgia <3

A movie for monologues. “Fuck Jakob Elinsky. Whining malcontent…. Fuck my father, with his endless grief.” “The dessert’s for starting over... This life came so close to never happening.”

There is one scene when Jakob takes off his glasses and Phil looks exactly like Günther Bachmann.

I watched Spike Lee's BlacKkKlansman earlier today and maaaaan those floating camera shots. Every time I prepare myself for 25th Hour's dolly shot (and the whole club scene tbh) and every time it rocks my socks off.

My biggest pet peeve is when people refer to The Divine Comedy as "dantes inferno", bc like. Thats not what its called! Its called The Divine Comedy!!! If u r going to act superior online about this poetry collection the LEAST u could do is refer to it correctly!!!
